The Portuguese State created a program to support companies, called the ADAPTAR Program, with a view to “lessening the increased costs for the rapid restoration of the conditions of operation of micro, small and medium-sized companies”.
This program aims to support “the costs of purchasing personal protective equipment for workers and users, hygiene equipment, disinfection contracts and the costs of reorganizing workplaces and layout changes in establishments”.
According to the information available on the Government Portal, this support covers 80% of eligible expenses, with a maximum limit of 5,000 euros and a minimum of 500 euros, with expenses since 18 March being eligible for Microenterprises (minus 10 workers), and 50% of eligible expenses, with a maximum limit of 40 thousand euros and a minimum of 5,000 euros, with expenses since 18 March being eligible for SMEs (up to 250 workers, certified).
Micro and small businesses and SMEs from all sectors of activity can benefit from this incentive system, including trade and services, catering and accommodation, industry and transport, with some specifications by sector of activity.
This system was published on the 14th of May, through Decree-Law nº20-G / 2020, and whose applications are open on the Portugal2020 portal.
